Audience of PERMIKOMNAS RI with the Deputy for Youth Empowerment of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Indonesia

Jakarta, August 4, 2026 – PERMIKOMNAS RI held an audience with the Deputy for Youth Empowerment of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Indonesia as a step to strengthen synergy in enhancing the capacity of Indonesian youth, particularly in information technology, communication, digital innovation, and entrepreneurship.

During the meeting, the General Chairperson of PERMIKOMNAS RI outlined the organization's vision as an association of Computer Science and Informatics students from various universities across Indonesia. The organization is committed to producing superior youth who are adaptive to technological advancements and capable of making tangible contributions to national development.

PERMIKOMNAS RI also highlighted the cultural transformation of youth in the digital era, presenting a comprehensive overview of youth-related challenges. The rapid development of digital technology in recent years has brought significant changes to how young people live, think, and interact. The internet, social media, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and the growth of the digital economy have shaped the culture and characteristics of Indonesian youth.

According to the Deputy for Youth Empowerment of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the key issues surrounding youth cultural transformation in the digital era include:

1. Lack of digital literacy

2. Overdependence on Artificial Intelligence (AI)

3. Mental health crisis

4. Shift in cultural values and national identity

5. Social media ethics and digital communication culture

6. Digital skills gap in the workforce

To address these challenges, the National Association of Computer and Informatics Students (PERMIKOMNAS) proposed several solutions:

1. Establishing a mandatory digital literacy program

2. Building a youth digital counseling service

3. Launching a social media ethics movement

4. Providing industry-based digital skill training, such as AI and the creative economy

5. Encouraging the digitalization of local culture through creative content

6. Creating a digital youth collaboration platform as a space for aspirations

The Deputy for Youth Empowerment expressed appreciation for PERMIKOMNAS RI's initiative and spirit in building a technology-based youth ecosystem. The Ministry welcomed the various programs initiated by PERMIKOMNAS RI and encouraged the organization to continue collaborating with the government to create impactful programs for society.

The key outcomes of the audience include:

- A shared commitment to strengthening synergy between PERMIKOMNAS RI and the Ministry of Youth and Sports RI in implementing technology- and innovation-based youth empowerment programs.

- Encouraging collaboration on training programs, seminars, workshops, competitions, and digital talent development for Indonesian youth.

- PERMIKOMNAS RI will draft a strategic program proposal for potential joint initiatives with the Deputy for Youth Empowerment.

- The Ministry opens channels for ongoing communication and coordination to support youth programs aligned with government policy.

- Both parties agreed to establish a sustainable institutional partnership to improve the quality of Indonesia's human resources toward Indonesia Golden 2045.
